Formed by Luísa Castro, 1st violin; Tomaz Soares, 2nd violin, Jessé Máximo Pereira, viola; Daniel Silva, cello. Awarded at the MEC 2018 Radio Music Festival, the Kalimera Quartet was born in 2018 from the desire of its members to research and perform iconic works of the Brazilian and universal traditional repertoire for this formation. Participant of the XXIII Biennial of Contemporary Brazilian Music in 2019 and the XXIX Panorama of Current Brazilian Music of UFRJ, the Kalimera Quartet performed four world premieres of seven composers.
