The String Quartet of UFF was formed in 1985 and works diligently in presenting the repertoire for string quartet, both nationally and internationally. It is made up of Tomaz Soares, Ubiratã Rodrigues, Jessé Máximo Pereira and David Chew. In 1988 it recorded works by Brazilian composers for the BBC of London. It performs regularly in the main concert halls of Rio de Janeiro.
